The recently introduced Bosch 1590 EVSL supersedes the similar Bosch 1590EVSK, which came out in 2004. If you’ve never used a jigsaw with a quick-change blade system, you’ll absolutely love it. If you’ve only used Harry Homeowner model jigsaws such as Ryobi, Skil, Black & Decker, or even the cheaper models of the professional brands, this jigsaw will be a revelation.
There is no more powerful jigsaw on the market (6.4 amps), and none that has blade stability features of Bosch 1590. Other than Festool models, this might be the most costly jigsaw; but of course, top-of-the-line tools are expensive. If you prefer the barrel-gripped style, check out the Bosch 1591 EVSL.

This is my second Bosch 1590 jigsaw. I’m still using my first one and have been for 5 years with zero trouble. It is so easy to change blades, is very accurate, and has so much power that I use it more than any other cutting tool in my shop. I needed a second saw for an out of state project so naturally, this was my first choice. It came with a newer case, which is pretty nice. Although on the expensive side, Bosch 1590 is awesome and I’m glad I now have two of them!

This jigsaw cuts extremely straight, and is easy to control. It’s also light weight, and I don’t have to take time to setup the fence on the table saw. I haven’t used it for any other projects, but so far I am extremely happy. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that Bosch is Swiss made as opposed to Chinese like a lot of tools these days. It seems to be well built, and a good tool that will last a long time.
